Pilar Barrera

Pilar has experience working within the field of human rights, including women’s rights, and gender issues at a multilateral level. She worked within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico for five years and in 2021 she moved to the Netherlands for her Master’s degree in development studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Before joining The Hague Academy as an intern within the Scholarship Coordination, she also interned at the Embassy of Mexico to The Netherlands. Her Master’s specialisation is in governance and development policy. As part of her experience, she worked at Danone in Mexico facilitating trainings for new employees and at a social organisation specialising in leadership programmes for Mexican bachelor students.
