My work for Menji Municipality
“Menji is a small but developing municipality in the south of Cameroon with around 50.000 inhabitants. It faces a lot of challenges and it is in the middle of decentralization process which should be finished in the upcoming two or three years. My responsibility is to provide assistance and advice to elected officials in the area of economic development and poverty alleviation, leading and piloting all staff in my department, propose measures for youth employment etc. All of these involve aspects of leadership and management.”

Experiences in The Netherlands
“During the training course “Leadership and Municipal Management” I had a chance to improve my knowledge on this topic and gained experience from my Dutch colleagues. I returned to Cameroon with fresh ideas which I immediately shared with Menji municipality staff.”

“I found the topic of the training unique itself and it was really well organised. During my internship in Assen, province Drenthe, I have met only nice people with different personalities and culture”

Back Home Action Plan
“Menji Municipality community in Cameroon is facing a lot of challenges, nevertheless I am convinced that different bodies of our municipality can benefit from my experience in the Netherlands. My back home action plan and the various working documents were very welcomed at a panel of Mayor, deputies, Secretary General and other staff. I am thinking of organizing a training session for a neighboring municipality to share experience I gained.”
