The Hague Academy organizes multi-annual and on-demand trainings. These include, but are not limited to, exposure visits, e-learning courses and trainings of trainers. The projects are based on a thorough needs analysis and are specially designed for the target group.

Every Voice Counts

Every Voice Counts is a programme from CARE Nederland and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for which The Hague Academy provides courses and training. Based on the principle that inclusive governance helps lead to peace and stability, CARE and its partners actively promote effective and inclusive decision-making processes in the world’s most fragile states. The project runs from 2016 to 2020.

Matra-PATROL

The MATRA Pre-Accession Training Rule of Law is a long-term programme aimed at civil servants, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and carried out by The Hague Academy. The main objective is to consolidate government institutions in southeastern European countries with a prospect of EU accession. Course themes include integrity and decentralisation.

Shiraka

The Shiraka programmes – such as Social Affairs & Employment and Local Governance – are Dutch initiatives dedicated to contributing to political development in the Arab region. The aims are to stimulate the establishment of constitutional, democratic states and to strengthen relations between the Netherlands and the target countries. The Shiraka programmes are carried out by our trainers from The Hague Academy, and financed under the economic pillar from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with support from CNV International.

LOGOReP

The Local Government Resilience Programme has originally been set up by VNG International (Association of Dutch Municipalities). The programme aims to help local governments in Jordan and Lebanon to deal with the many Syrian refugees that have come to their countries. The Hague Academy is involved in setting up a training institute in Jordan and providing expertise on local governance.

LACEP

In response to the adoption of a new constitution in Zimbabwe in 2013, VNG International (Association of Dutch Municipalities) launched the Local Authorities Capacity Enhancement Project. The new constitution laid out a bigger role for local governments. From January 2015 to June 2017, VNG International helped to enhance participation of local governments in public policymaking. The Hague Academy supported the project by providing several trainings.
