Zafira Harnadi-Froment

Zafira is an environmentalist in the making. She is half French half Indonesian and has lived in both countries. For this reason, she thrives in multicultural environments.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Development from Sorbonne University in Paris.

She aspires to evolve professionally in the field of global environmental sustainability. She values approaches which are participatory, decolonial and feminist and methods such as mediation and collective intelligence.

Her past experiences include internships at the eco-feminist NGO WECF International in Utrecht and at Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta, an Indonesian NGO focusing on strengthening sustainable governance and community empowerment in areas affected by extractive industries. At the Hague Academy, she is working on trainings related to citizen participation and inclusive governance, local climate response, and local governance.
