Summercourse: Peacebuilding and Local Governance

The main questions that will be addressed in this course are: How can LGs achieve lasting stability, sustainable peace and sustainable development? What lessons can be learnt from LGs peacebuilding approach in different post conflicts contexts? How can development partners increase the effectiveness of their support to LGs in a post conflict context? When does decentralisation process facilitate or hinder peacebuilding process and what is the role of LGs in both situations?

Integrity and anti-corruption

This training focuses on the complexities of corruption, its root causes and the impact on society. The course introduces participants to different examples of institutional reforms and anti-corruption measures. Furthermore, participants discuss integrity dilemmas from their own working practice. They get familiarised with the Dutch landscape of Integrity as well as examples of policies to improve the integrity of an organisation’s workforce.
