Elena provides support and contributes to the development of training programmes in the area of water governance. Trained as an ecologist for her undergraduate in China (Peking University), Elena holds a joint MSc degree in environmental sciences, policy and management from different European universities. Prior to moving to the Netherlands and working at The Hague Academy, she lived and studied in various countries, including China, Austria, the UK, and Sri Lanka. Elena has experience working in the field of conservation and policy analysis for the Convention on Biological Diversity. She also has research experience at the International Water Management Institute, where she worked on the hydrological changes of the Blue Nile River. Elena is Russian, and she is fluent in Russian, English, and Mandarin Chinese.
