Our programmes

The Hague Academy for Local Governance offers different types of training programmes.

The Hague Academy for Local Governance offers the following types of programmes:

Open subscription courses

Annually, we organise up to twelve one or two-week courses in The Hague that are open for applications. People can participate by paying a course fee or they can apply for a scholarship. See our courses

Tailor-made Trainings

These customised programmes can be short programmes (up to one year) or multi-annual programmes, combining off- and online training elements. The content and methodology are developed according to the needs and demands of the clients, beneficiaries and donors. These programmes often include the training of local trainers to increase their sustainability and impact. Request customised training

Training of Trainers

This course equips professionals with the skills to design and deliver effective, inclusive training sessions. Participants learn to apply adult learning principles, facilitate participatory methods, and develop tailored training plans. The ToT is offered as a stand-alone course or integrated into tailor-made programmes. Learn more about the Training of Trainers course

Talent for Governance Programme

Young, talented local government employees can apply for The Hague Academy’s scholarship programme, which consists of participation in one of our open courses in The Hague, a one-week internship in a Dutch municipality and network activities with young civil servants worldwide.
