Laura is a communication professional with experience working in the development sector in Colombia, the United States, Jordan and the Netherlands. She is responsible for all internal and external communications of The Hague Academy, including content creation, promotion strategies, alumni relations and digital platforms management. Laura has a Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Communication and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from Erasmus University Rotterdam, with a focus on local development strategies and gender. Prior to joining The Hague Academy, Laura worked as a communication officer for the Municipality of Medellín, Colombia, and as a fundraising and communication officer for different NGOs. Her areas of interest include gender, diversity and inclusion, and the use of communication to support social change processes and social mobilisation. Laura is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese, and has an intermediate level of Dutch.
