Mejdy Shekh Ahmad

Mejdy is currently an intern at The Hague Academy. As a Syrian-Dutch national, he has spent much of his life abroad, including in Lebanon, Turkey and the Netherlands. Having lived in the Netherlands for about seven years, he has developed a deep understanding of the societal, cultural, and political dynamics between Europe and the MENA region and has developed great connections with people from diverse backgrounds.

Mejdy holds a bachelor’s degree in European Studies from The Hague University of Applied Sciences, with a specialization in European Law and Governance, International Relations, and International Law. He has a strong interest in democratic participation, international governance, and the rule of law. At The Hague Academy, Mejdy supports various training programs, including Citizen Participation & Inclusive Governance, Migration and Local Authorities, and Digital Governance. His role is tied closely with his passion for international governance, development, and diplomacy.
