Noa is currently an intern at The Hague Academy. Noa grew up in Arnhem, but 6 years ago she moved to Amsterdam to pursue a bachelors in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. By following a minor in Conflict Studies and participating in an exchange at Sciences Po Paris, Noa developed a strong interest in the MENA region. Within this regional focus she has experience in doing research on (nonviolent) social movements, peacebuilding, and the humanitarian sector. She is driven by decolonial practice to disrupt the inequal relationships that continue to dominate the development sector and foster new forms of international cooperation that prioritize diversity, our natural environment, and social justice.
Besides her internship, Noa is enrolled in the Master Conflict Resolution and Governance at the University of Amsterdam. In her free time she co-facilitates negotiation workshops for students from the US and the Middle East. At the Hague Academy, Noa supports trainings on the topics of Water Management, Local Security and Peacebuilding, Local Economic Development, and Digitalization. With her passion for experiential learning, Noa aspires to contribute to the Academy’s mission of empowering local governments worldwide to spearhead truly inclusive and sustainable development.
