Training mode of delivery development Rwanda 2016

In 2016, The Hague Academy developed a training mode of delivery for the Rwanda Local Government Institute (LGI). This training mode was intended for their short training programmes. The design of a training mode of delivery is based on internationally recognised adult learning theories and on professional training methodologies, especially those specialised in local governance studies.

Main goal

  • The training mode of delivery is a teaching methodological guideline that considers adult learning requirements in order to allow full engagement and participation of the participants in the training, to ensure quick learning and ownership of the training content.

Outcomes

A  Training delivery mode was developed for LGI, including the required capacity and skills for the LGI staff (lecturers and experts) to administer the proposed methodology in delivering academic and short course programs.

Evaluation system developed in order to capture participants and lecturers’ feedback on the relevance of the mode of delivery to inform the review exercise over time.

A list of tools, materials and equipment was provided and adapted to the teaching methodology proposed.
