Nadine is passionate about strengthening citizen’s role in public decision-making as a pathway towards a more inclusive, just, and sustainable future. She brings extensive expertise in citizen participation, with a particular focus on youth participation, gender, and peacebuilding.
Before joining The Hague Academy, Nadine worked at Plan International, where she supported youth participation and youth-led change initiatives as Global Programme Lead. Prior to that, at Plan International Germany, she developed and managed an innovative global programme on youth participation, as well as projects on children’s rights in West Africa. Earlier in her career, she worked with the Civil Peace Service in Sierra Leone and Cameroon to support peacebuilding processes. For example, she lectured in Peace and Conflict Studies at Fourah Bay College and strengthening the local organisation AMNet’s work on women’s and children’s rights in Sierra Leone.
Nadine holds a Magister degree in Political Science from the University of Mainz, with Cultural Anthropology and Law as minor subjects. She has also completed further training as a peace and conflict adviser with the Academy for Conflict Transformation. She is fluent in English and German and can communicate in Dutch and French.
