UN-HABITAT and the Government of Brazil are hosting the World Urban Forum 2010. The Hague Academy is invited to deliver a training event on social cohesion from a local perspective. Key issues to be addressed in this training are: the effects of immigration and globalisation on local communities, maintaining stability in cities where many people with different backgrounds and lifestyles live together and preventing tensions between groups from escalating.
The World Urban Forum brings together government leaders, mayors, members of national, regional and international associations of local governments, non-governmental and community organizations, professionals and academics as partners working for better cities.
