In coordination with the Development Academy of the Philippines, The Hague Academy for Local Governance, designed, prepared and delivered a 5-day Tailor-Made International Shuttle Course on Digital Transformation in the Public Sector for 29 participants from the Philippines.
This course provided global insights and perspectives on digital transformation. It delved into the core concepts and principles of digital government, as well as examples of digital tools and platforms across key sectors. It also highlighted the importance of data and digital technology in ensuring smart, relevant, and effective interventions for urban and rural development. There were site visits that highlighted actual examples of digitalization initiatives in the Netherlands.
This International Shuttle Course had three core learning objectives, all formulated around the effective design and implementation of digital transformation strategies in public governance. The three main objectives of the course were to:
Firstly, allow participants to explore international best practices, tools, and platforms in digital government, with a focus on how these innovations can be adapted and localized within their own government units.
Secondly, deepen the understanding of the participants of how digital strategies can support development goals at both the local and national levels by examining and comparing digital transformation efforts in the Netherlands.
Thirdly, participants are to synthesize their learning into an action plan that outlines how digital solutions and data-driven governance can be effectively introduced or scaled in their own contexts.
