E-Learning for Makandra: Capacity Building for Districts in Suriname

The Makandra programme aims to build capacity for districts in Suriname. The Hague Academy (THA) was asked to create four online modules to consolidate the expertise/content of the various training sessions that participants have attended. These online modules will remain available for programme participants to refresh their knowledge, as well as for other civil servants to gain an understanding of these topics.

The participants are civil servants from the various districts (local governments) in Suriname. They obtained training on four different topics, namely:

Citizen Participation
Conflict Resolution and Mediation
Financial Management
Motivational Leadership and Team Management.

The Hague Academy was hired to develop the online modules using content from the various experts in the training sessions. In doing so, The Hague Academy coordinated between VNG International and the experts to make sure the modules are true to the content delivered during the training sessions in 2024.
