Inclusive Local Economic and Entrepreneurship Development in Burkina Faso
The programme enhanced the capacities of the staff of the commune that are responsible for the implementation of the president of the Special Delegation (PDC) with a better understanding of local economic and entrepreneurial development.
Beneficiaries of the training on inclusive economic and entrepreneurship development were: the Secretary General (city manager) of the city hall, president of the Special Delegation (PDS), president of the economic and financial affairs committee, president of the general affairs committee and one communal technical officer. Beneficiaries of the training on employment and entrepreneurship development were: all communal technical officers on livestock, agriculture and environment (3) and two representatives of women’s association per commune. Beneficiaries of the roll-out of the training on entrepreneurship development, facilitated by the local trainers, were 100 colleagues from the participating communes.
The topics that were addressed during the trainings were:
- Inclusive economic and entrepreneurship development;
- Employment and entrepreneurship development;
- Entrepreneurship development for IDPs and host community.
Other activities of the programme were the coaching of the local trainers, a mid-term event with higher tiers of government, private sector actors, (I)NGOs and donors, and a final event that consisted of a presentation of business plans, a final evaluation of the overall programme and follow-up actions.
