Matra Rule of Law Training Programme

The MATRA Rule of Law programme shares the necessary knowledge and skills with policy advisors, members of the judiciary and other civil servants working in the government and justice sectors, helping them to lead and inspire the modernisation of the judicial systems of their home countries building from the Dutch experience. The training also aims to create transnational networks to promote the exchange of knowledge and future collaboration between the participants and between the participants and the (guest) lecturers and relevant government departments. The programme is divided into different sub-programmes. The Integrity of Civil Servants programme aims to increase understanding of the international and EU framework for integrity policy and the national context of the participants´ countries. The Decentralisation and Citizen Participation programme is directed at increasing the knowledge and skills of the participants to promote decentralisation and citizen participation within their national contexts. More recently, The Hague Academy and is also developing programmes on Leadership Training and Public Finance Management and Procurement.

Main goal

The general aim of this training programme is to promote institutional capacity building in the fields of Rule of Law within the government organisation in the target countries.

Objectives

  • Creating transnational networks to promote the exchange of knowledge and future collaboration between the participants and between the participants and the (guest) lecturers and relevant government departments.

Outcomes

To achieve the objectives as set out above, during this programme, seven sub-trainings were organised on a yearly basis for 36 civil servants working in the field of Rule of Law.

EN (short summary) GEO CODEX is a cross-border exchange between Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadaster (Republic of Moldova) and partners in the Netherlands to strengthen democratic institutions and good governance through spatial data, public-sector innovation, and peer learning. The project includes study visits, workshops, and capacity-building activities aimed at improving data governance and citizen-oriented services.

RO (scurt rezumat) GEO CODEX este un schimb transfrontalier între Agenția Geodezie, Cartografie și Cadastru (Republica Moldova) și parteneri din Țările de Jos, care urmărește consolidarea instituțiilor democratice și a bunei guvernări prin date spațiale, inovație în sectorul public și învățare între părți. Proiectul include vizite de studiu, ateliere și activități de formare pentru îmbunătățirea guvernanței datelor și a serviciilor orientate către cetățeni.
