Strengthening the Municipality of Zarqa

This training course was conducted in Arabic, in the Jordanian municipality of Zarqa. The course aimed to inform employees of the municipality of Zarqa and local community actors on public service delivery instruments and citizen engagement tools, in order to promote good public service delivery and transparent and accountable city management. The employees of the municipality improved their skills in communication, presentation, strategic planning and overall project management. The participants were introduced to the concepts of public service delivery, gender mainstreaming, change management, citizen participation and accountability. They also learned how to use different social accountability tools.

Objectives

  • To deliver expertise to support a better understanding of the basic concepts and best practices on public service delivery, citizen participation and community outreach activities.
  • To provide knowledge and skills on project management techniques and on how to deliver and design trainings.

Activities

12 days of training were conducted to inform employees of the municipality of Zarqa and local community actors on public service delivery instruments and citizen engagement tools.
