
This study visit programme for the delegation of the Ministry of Labour of Qatar consisted of five days during which different study visits were organised to various relevant stakeholders within the labour landscape of the Netherlands and more specifically in relation to joint committees.
The five-day study visit programme offered an in-depth look at the employment landscape in the Netherlands, focusing on labour relations, workers’ access to justice, and social dialogue. Participants engaged with representatives from various ministries, the Social Economic Council, and labour unions, and attended practical sessions on work councils. The programme concluded with a reflection session and a closing event where participants received certificates of completion.
The main objectives of the study visit were the improvement of the understanding and the knowledge of the participants on the background and the functioning of the Dutch social dialogue, provide the participants with insights in the practical functioning of works councils in the Netherlands, as well as increase their awareness and understanding on different options for collective and individual conciliation, mediation, complaint mechanisms and access to justice for workers and their representatives.
