Training-of-Trainers programme Ecosystems for Entrepreneurs in Algeria

The main purpose of this project was to expand the established network of like-minded people working on improving the Algerian Ecosystem for entrepreneurs.

This was realised by:

• Training the participants of the Ecosystem for Entrepreneurs programme in how to train others (Training of Trainers) so they can further share their gained knowledge with other actors in the Algerian Entrepreneur Ecosystem;
• Expanding the established network by hosting a closing event at the NL embassy in Algiers.

Participants of the project were twelve Algerian professionals, coming from different backgrounds and organisations in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as ministries, business associations, private sector, universities, and financial institutions, who all participated in the Shiraka training programme ‘Ecosystem for Entrepreneurs’ in 2021-2022.

In the roll-out of the Training of Trainers, the twelve participants provided the ‘Ecosystems for Entrepreneurs’ training for 36 to 48 other participants coming from different backgrounds and organisations in the entrepreneurial ecosystem: ministries, business associations, private sector, universities, and financial institutions.The project activities included:

• A three-day Training of Trainers workshop focused on content mastery and contextualisation of the training materials and trainer skills to properly convey the materials;
• A three-day roll-out in which trainers apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge by facilitating the training workshop for a new group of participants who work in the Entrepreneurial ecosystem (with coaching from The Hague Academy during and after roll-out);
• A closing event at the NL embassy in Algiers where a selected group of participants presented their Back-Home Action Plans to the Dutch Ambassador, the Algerian Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and SMEs and other relevant actors.
