Training Workshops for Algerian Judges on Judicial Communication, Court Management and Leadership

The “Training Workshops for Algerian Judges on Judicial Communication, Court Management and Leadership” took place in Algeria in 2026. Female judges from Algeria followed a two-day tailor-made programme where the main objective was to strengthen Algerian judges’ professional communication, leadership, and management capacities, enabling them to communicate responsibly with the public and media, lead effectively within the judiciary, and manage court processes and professional conflicts while maintaining judicial independence and public trust.

The beneficiaries of the workshops were Algerian judges who participated in training sessions organised for different cohorts. The programme targeted judges who have leadership and management roles within courts and who engage with the public, media, court staff, and professional peers in their judicial responsibilities.

The programme consisted of two training modules delivered to multiple cohorts of Algerian judges. The first module focused on judicial communication with the public and media, including communicating judicial decisions, handling media interactions, addressing communication in sensitive cases, and strengthening leadership and professional responsibility.

The second module addressed court management and conflict management, covering leadership roles within courts, effective communication and collaboration in judicial environments, negotiation skills, and constructive approaches to resolving professional and organisational conflicts. The workshops combined expert input, practical examples, peer exchange, and interactive exercises based on real professional challenges faced by judges.
