What policies help to increase economic growth and job creation? How is the social security system organised in The Netherlands? What can be learned from experiences in the Middle East and North Africa? These and many more questions were discussed during a blended learning programme offered by The Hague Academy in cooperation with ROI and CNV International.
The first part of the course was organised in The Hague, The Netherlands. Here we visited the Schroeder Social Reintegration Project of the City of the Hague, went to the Social and Economic Council to learn more about the ‘The Dutch Consultation economy in perspective’ , held a negotiations workshop and more besides.
The second part took place in Tunis, Tunisia. More work on the back home action plan was done here and we visited micro-projects for youth and women. Furthermore, we discussed themes as ‘Challenges for economic growth in the MENA-region’ , The Social Security System in Tunisia’ with international experts and paid a visit to the Tunisian Ministry of Social Affairs.
After two dynamic weeks, the closing ceremony of the training was performed by the mayor of Siliana and the Netherlands Ambassador to Tunisia, who handed out the certificates to the participants.
The next training programme on Social Affairs and Employment will start on 30 September 2013. The application period for full fellowships will amongst others be announced on our website and facebook page.
