The Hague Academy recently added a new member to its executive board. Pieter Jeroense has replaced Frank Burgers as Treasurer of The Hague Academy. Frank left the board, when he left his position as the director of The Centre for Municipal Research and Advice (CMRA) in Pretoria, South Africa. Pieter has a lot of experience in the field of local governance, having worked for three different municipalities in the Netherlands. In the last couple years, he has worked in high-level management functions. Until 2017, he was the Municipal Secretary of the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn. In the last two years, he has served as the Deputy Managing Director of the VNG, the Association of Dutch Municipalities. His function at The Hague Academy will allow him to combine his large experience in local governance with his international experience, that he gained during his time working for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As a member of the board of The Hague Academy, Pieter will be responsible for overseeing the academy’s budgets and annual accounts.
We are very happy to welcome Pieter Jeroense to our team and are looking forward to his contributions to our work in strengthening good local governance around the world.
