Sustaining Peace in Mindanao

Between 2020 and 2021, The Hague Academy developed an Orange Knowledge training programme for the academic community of Mindanao State University’s (MSU) on inclusive governance and sustaining peace.

The Hague Academy provided fully online training for 18 teaching professionals and staff of the Institute of Local Governance (ILG), the College of Public Affairs (CPA) and other relevant campuses who are expected to be actively involved in training activities for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and its Local Government Units (LGUs).

Main Goal

Strengthening the capacities of Mindanao State University’s (MSU) academic community on inclusive governance and sustaining peace.

Objectives

In order to professionalise MSU’s training services to BARMM, its LGUs and civil society, the programme will strengthen their capacities on:

  • Adult training methods
  • Gender and conflict-sensitive inclusive governance
  • Sustaining peace and the role of local government

Activities

To achieve the objectives, this training programme includes the following ‘Training of Trainer’ (ToT) activities:

An online ToT on adult learning methods

An online ToT on gender and conflict-sensitive inclusive governance

An online ToT on sustaining peace and the role of local government
